Through all the length of the colossal ash tree

Between the eagle and Nidhogg the snake

Yggdrasil stands
Hanging on a branch through nine days and nights
Oden took his life for death does not fright
Wind blows the leaves for the eagle flaps his wings
The Aesir feel their grief for Allfather’s death
As the leaves hold the power to restore all life
Oden rises from the dead gaining holy wisdom
«An ash I know there stands
Yggdrasil is its name
A tall tree showered with shining loam
From there come the dews that drop in the valleys
It stands forever green over Urd’s well»
