Bobby Bare - Bird Named Yesterday текст песни

Все тексты песен Bobby Bare

(Jack Clement)

I had a bird he flew away
And I guess he's gone to stay
But I see him winging on his way
My flyaway bird named Yesterday.

He's over the place of my birth
He's circling a spot that I know
He's hangin' around the Saw Mill town
Where the gentle summer breezes blow.

I had a bird he flew away
And I guess he's gone to stay
But I see him winging on his way
My flyaway bird named Yesterday.

He's riding on a train
He's down at the old swimmin' hole
He'll fly till he finds
That old gang of mine.

Then he'll search for a tree
A big tall oak tree
Then he'll look from his perch
At the old country church.

I had a bird he flew away
And I guess he's gone to stay
But I see him winging on his way
My flyaway bird named Yesterday...

(Narrative by Bobby spoken after song:

My name is Bob, Bill my name is Joe. I live in Little Rock, Seattle. I even
live in Kokomo. I was born in a big city and I was born on a farm (he's over
the place of my birth) And I was born and grew up in a little town in southern
Ohio and I still live here. You know my town never changed much until a few
years ago When that big industrial outfit came in and bought up a lot of the
land around here. Fact is they just about bought the whole town.
